Uncle Ned’s Strange Words: paradox

Uncle Ned’s Strange Words: paradox

My first strange word is “paradox,” pronounced like it rhymes with “pair o’ socks.”

This word exudes an air of defiance. Uncle Ned appreciates defiance in the face of power, whether it be the power of parents, governments, or any temporal authority. But a paradox is so strange that it actually defies pure logic. Yes, truth is often strange to us, but the impossibly true takes strange to a whole new level!

A sentence:“If a dock is practical, is a paradox ostentatious?”*

* Uncle Ned made a pun!
