I Would Stop Your Time for You

I would stop your time for you

I would pause your slow exhaustion
For you the Universe would hold its breath and pause its flight from chaos
or maybe from its slight pinprick
of darkness

Your earth would pause the wheeling stars
To watch each spritely jewel
exactly as it shone
the moment its light departed
however long ago

But your sun would cease to warm
your skin, your heart, your soul
As each and every beam should freeze
and leave you blind, though whole

I would stop your time for you
And pause your slow exhaustion
But Love demands the rush of Time

Until you are complete.
