Cool Questions: Is a CQ Author always cool?

Question: Is a Cool Quotes Author always cool?

Answer: Not always

Fact: Not every author of a Cool Quote is necessarily cool. Further fact: Not every author of a Cool Quote is necessarily even a particularly good writer!

This identifies, once again, that interesting phenomenon: A Cool Quote can pop up, literally, from almost anywhere. Hence Proctor Charlie’s pet theory that coolness is an eternal and constant commodity of the Coolsphere, accessible by almost anyone almost anywhere, almost anytime. So let’s keep our ears to the cool ground.

Our experience:

Great literature almost always contains at least a few Cool Quotes, although we may need to dig deep to find one. Some great literature develops great ideas and astounding language in very large packages, way too expansive to fit into a Cool Quote, yet, for the one who is paying attention, one may still find a Cool Quote tucked into the middle of other awesomeness, sometimes even tucked into the middle of a long sentence within an interminable paragraph.

On the other hand, there are some great writers who seem to write specifically to get quoted. Shakespeare, Blaise Pascal, and Sir Terry Pratchett come to mind. However, in our humble opinion, some of their best stuff is completely missed by the folks who sell inspirational and motivational posters in hopes you will hang them on the wall of your cubicle.

Some Cool Quotes even show up hidden in a guilty pleasure, like, perhaps, your favorite soap opera or pulp detective novel. Some have even jumped off the comics page. You might even hear one pop out from that irritating in-law as he dishes up an extra helping of green bean casserole. Won’t he be surprised when he sees his words in Cool Quotes!
