Sunday Simple Sermon #6 (redux)

It is the silence between the words which give the words meaning.

It doesn’t seem like silence should need context, but then again, as China Mieville has written, “In the right context you can make words do all kinds of things”. Silence has certainly always had its own meaning, but it is not impossible for words to bend time and space. Einstein, after all, dealt in words as well as numbers.

So what shall we conclude? Whoever said that a context even demands a conclusion? As much as I may have wanted one, my own context has never seemed inclined to provide any conclusions. The notion actually feels a bit fatalistic when I think about it.
